Ladakh with Flight Tour

Day 01ARRIVE IN LEH

Arrive in Leh by morning flight and transfer to the hotel. Enjoy a welcome drink and spend the day at leisure to acclimate to the high altitude of Leh (3,500 meters).

Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 02LEH - EXCURSION TO SHAM VALLEY (65 KM / 4 HRS ONE WAY)

After breakfast, drive along the Indus River on the Leh-Kargil Highway to explore the Sham Valley:

• Hall of Fame: Visit this museum built by the Indian Army, showcasing the bravery and sacrifices of Indian soldiers, especially during the Kargil War. Highlights include the OP Vijay Gallery, letters from soldiers, war memorabilia, and a souvenir shop. (Closed on Mondays)
• Gurudwara Patthar Sahib: Built in memory of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, this revered site sits at an altitude of 3,600 meters, about 22 km from Leh.
• Magnetic Hill: Experience the illusion of vehicles rolling uphill against gravity at this unique spot at 14,000 feet.
• Confluence of Zanskar and Indus Rivers: Witness the scenic merging of the blue Zanskar and green Indus rivers at Nimmu Valley.
• Alchi Gompa: Explore Ladakh’s oldest monastery, dating back to the 11th century, known for its Tibetan-style architecture and ancient wall paintings.
• Likir Monastery: Built in the 11th century and rebuilt in the 18th century, it houses a 25-foot gold-covered Buddha statue.
• Shanti Stupa: Visit this white-domed stupa offering panoramic views of Leh, built in 1991 by Japanese Buddhist Bhikshu Gyomyo Nakamura.
• Leh Palace: Discover the 17th-century former royal palace with a museum, prayer room, and stunning views of Leh and the Zanskar mountains.

Return to the hotel in Leh for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 03LEH TO NUBRA VALLEY VIA KHARDUNG LA (18,390 FT, 120 KM / 4-5 HRS)

After breakfast, drive to Nubra Valley via Khardung La, the second-highest motorable road in the world. The valley, known as Ldumra (Valley of Flowers), lies between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges at an average altitude of 10,000 feet.

Upon arrival in Nubra, check in at your camp or hotel in Hunder. In the evening, take a walk through the local villages to experience the traditional Ladakhi lifestyle.

Overnight stay at the camp or hotel.

Day 04NUBRA VALLEY – EXCURSION TO TURTUK (0 POINT & THANG VILLAGE)

Start early and visit Turtuk, a village acquired by India during the 1971 war with Pakistan, located close to the border.

• 16th Century Mosque: Showcasing Turkish and Iranian influences.
• Ruined Fort of Dhards and Monastery: Delve into the region’s history and culture.
• View of K2 Peak: Marvel at the world’s second-highest peak.

Return to the hotel in Nubra for an overnight stay.

Day 05NUBRA VALLEY TO PANGONG LAKE (150 KM / 5 HRS)

After breakfast, visit the sand dunes of Hunder and enjoy a Bactrian (double-humped) camel ride against the backdrop of snow-capped mountains.

• Diskit Monastery: The administrative center of Nubra Valley, known for its giant Buddha statue and bustling market.

Continue the drive to Pangong Lake via Agham and Shyok Valley. Experience the rugged yet breathtaking landscapes of the Changthang region.

Arrive at Pangong Lake (14,000 feet) and check into your camp or hotel.

Dinner and overnight stay near the lake.

Day 06PANGONG LAKE TO LEH VIA CHANGLA PASS (140 KM / 6 HRS)

Spend a leisurely morning exploring the mesmerizing beauty of Pangong Lake before heading back to Leh via Changla Pass (5,486 meters).

En route, visit:

• Hemis Gompa: The largest monastery of the Drukpa Kagyu Order of Tibetan Buddhism.
• Thiksey Monastery: A stunning complex rising tier upon tier on a hill.
• Shey Palace: The ancient capital of Ladakh.
• 3 Idiots Rancho School: Visit the famous school featured in the Bollywood movie 3 Idiots.

Arrive in Leh for dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 07DEPART LEH

After breakfast, transfer to Leh Airport for your onward journey.
Tour concludes with beautiful memories of Ladakh!
